Product Care Guide
Authenticity
All our collections are manufactured in Europe where the origin of the materials is local and the manufacturing processes maintain their traditional style, many of them having manual and artisan manufacturing phases.
Each piece is unique and any irregularities, color variations, small imperfections (air bubbles, textures in the reliefs, etc.) are considered unique marks of authenticity in each piece, they are never considered defects.
Care guide - Tableware
- For all white or matte tableware, it is especially important to follow the recommended care to avoid scratches and keep the dishes in perfect condition for as long as possible.
- Avoid using meat knives or large saws to avoid marking or scratching the surface of the avocado.
- Avoid using cutlery with a PVD or colored coating that may stain or mark the surface of the dishes.
- Avoid applying the plates causing collisions between them
- Prevent dishes from touching or colliding with any part inside the dishwasher to avoid breakage or scratches.
- Riviera Blue/Green and Riviera Sheets cannot be used in the oven or freezer in case of a cracked finish.
- We recommend that large pieces be washed by hand to avoid collisions and breakage inside the dishwasher.
- (Costa Nova Tableware Special)Avoid thermal shock, with large temperature differences in short periods of time, the maximum variation allowed is 180ºC. As a preventive measure, avoid placing pieces that have recently been heated in the oven on a cold surface.
Care guide - Cutlery
- All cutlery is dishwasher safe except for those indicated on the product sheet, generally those that have natural wood handles such as Saber Teak or Panda Bambu.
- All Saber Cutlery that is dishwasher safe must be washed in dishwasher cycles with temperatures below 45ºC.
- For all cutlery, it is highly recommended to dry the pieces after washing to keep the color of the handle intact and prevent rust on the steel blades on the knives.
- Knife blade (Cutipol Special) Be very careful with knife blades. Steel, which provides greater cutting power and hardness, may have lower resistance to oxidation. Be sure to wash knives immediately after use and dry them thoroughly before storing them in a dry place.
- Resin handle (Special Cutipol) To make dark handles last longer and maintain a good color, we suggest applying a moisturizing lotion or a few drops of vegetable oil.
- Corrosion (Cutipol Special) Due to the percentage of carbon in all knife blades, it is advisable not to use aggressive or citrus, chlorinated or anti-lime detergents, as they may stain or rust.
TRIBECA Care, MANUELINE:
Used under normal conditions and following the care instructions, the cutlery will maintain its good appearance for a long period of time, the appearance of wear marks or slight changes in the density/tone of the coatings being normal as a result of its use and consequent have on.
MANUAL CLEANING
• After use, each cutlery should be washed as soon as possible to avoid prolonged contact with food scraps or remains.
• Use hot water, a mild detergent and a soft sponge.
Abrasive sponges/clothes should be avoided as they could cause irreversible scratches or loss of coating.
• After washing, always rinse and dry cutlery immediately with a soft cloth.
DISHWASHER
It is recommended to wash the garments immediately after use, removing all food remains and rinsing them before placing them in the machine.
• Only use detergents of proven quality with a maximum of 10% phosphates.
• Do not load too many cutlery in each basket, to avoid collisions between them as much as possible during the entire washing cycle.
• Make sure all knives are placed together in the same basket with the blades facing up and separated from the rest of the cutlery. Spoons and forks should also be placed in the baskets with the handles facing down.
• Never mix stainless steel cutlery with objects made of other metals in the dishwasher.
• It is highly recommended that each washing process be carried out below 60ºC.
• Once the dishwasher has completed the washing cycle, it is recommended to immediately remove all cutlery, wiping it with a soft cloth, especially the knives to prevent rust.
STORAGE
Cutlery should always be stored in a dry place, and in locations that promote as little contact as possible between them. Storing the pieces without cleaning/drying them, or even in humid places, can encourage stains to appear on the products.
STAIN REMOVAL
Stains can be removed from mirror or matte polished pieces by soaking them for fifteen minutes in a solution of hot water and citric acid. This solution should be prepared with one tablespoon of citric acid per liter of water. Citric acid can be purchased at any pharmacy or grocery store.
TRIBECA COPPER, TRIBECA BLACK, TRIBECA GOLD
The PVD/COLOR (Physical Vapor Deposition) decorative coating technology consists of a thin, high-adhesion ceramic coating, with a controlled thickness between 0.5 and 1.5 microns, deposited using highly ionized plasma in a high vacuum chamber under a non-polluting process.
• Anti-allergy: Protection from direct human contact with the substrate, preventing allergic reactions to different components, such as nickel.
• Biocompatible, significantly reducing bacterial adhesion and proliferation.
• Resistance to wear and corrosion, increasing the useful life of the items, preventing the appearance of wear marks, as well as the density of the coating/color changing depending on care/use.
All PVD coated items should be machine washed and never with a sponge or abrasive cloth.
It is very important to dry the pieces after washing.
